EOS Utility is an application that brings together all of the functions required to communicate with the camera. Functions for downloading and displaying images, remote shooting, and camera control of each setting when an EOS DIGITAL camera is connected to a computer have been integrated.
EOS Utility 2.5.1 Updater for Windows is software that will install EOS Utility 2.5.1 on your computer or update a previously installed version of EOS Utility to EOS Utility 2.5.1. It is necessary to update your software that the previous version has been already installed on your computer.
1. Changes with EOS Utility 2.5.1
1-1. Supports EOS 5D Mark II
-The camera's video capture function can be controlled from the computer.
(While capturing video in Remote Live View mode, the AF drive command cannot be operated from the computer.)
2. Changes with EOS Utility 2.5
2-1. Supports EOS 50D
-The software is equipped with a function that peripheral illumination correction data for the lens can be registered to the camera.
-The software is equipped with a function that the copyright information can be set and applied to the camera.
-The software is equipped with a function to press the release button halfway (to start AF/AE and IS operations).
<Operation Method> Move the cursor to the Shoot button in the capture window.
-Remote AF/MF selector button is added.
By setting it to MF after pressing the shutter button halfway, the adjusted conditions of AF and AE are maintained.
-AF modes (Quick mode / Live mode / Live face detection mode) during Live View shooting and the AF frame display function have been added.
-A check box to display an enlarged view at 200% has been added.
2-2. Improvements in the specifications of Capture Window
The Remote Live View shooting button has been re-designed for accentuation, and also the Viewer Window, Quick Preview, and Test Shooting that were previously displayed as icons have been incorporated into the Other functions button.

2-2. To Users of EOS-1D Mark II N, EOS-1Ds Mark II, EOS-1D Mark II, EOS-1Ds, EOS-1D
PCs with one of the OSes above preinstalled, that have an OHCI-compatible IEEE 1394 port. (Operation is not guaranteed on machines that have been upgraded.) The .NET Framework 2.0 or later is required.(*2)

(*1) The models that can be connected vary depending on the OS.
(*2)Microsoft's .NET Framework will be installed along with EOS Utility.
3. Update or Installation Requirements
Any of the following are installed: EOS Utility, File Viewer Utility, EOS Viewer Utility, or CameraWindow DSLR. Or, in Windows Vista environments, have the updater recognize a CD-ROM bundled with EOS Digital products (EOS Digital Solution Disk v1 to v19.0 or Digital Camera Solution Disk v2).
It is linked with DIGITAL Photo Professional, ZoomBrowser EX, ImageBrowser, Picture Style Editor, but the software has to be the latest version.
The updater for EOS Utility can be downloaded separately.
-Digital Photo Professional (3.5.1 or later)

-WFT Utility (3.3 or later)
Make sure that at least one of the following applications is installed.
- EOS Utility
- EOS Viewer Utility
- File Viewer Utility
- CameraWindow DSLR
If the applications above are not installed on a PC running Windows Vista, be sure to prepare one of the following CD-ROMs.
- EOS DIGITAL Solution Disk Ver1 - Ver19
- DIGITAL CAMERA Solution Disk Ver2
